DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will direct and manage the Hot Strip Mill (HSM) production process, as well as review and evaluate quality, downtime, and performance of the HSM Production department to effectively support AM/NS Calvert’s business objectives.

The Basics

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in a management position of a Steel Mill (Team Manager or higher)
  • In–depth knowledge and experience with Hot Strip Mill process
  • Basic understanding of heat, mass transfer, and material plasticity
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively work cross-functionally with various groups
  • Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations at senior management level
  • Proficiency in MS Office products

 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Development of engineered solutions for quality and throughput optimization without a given solution process
  • Coordination of measures to ensure a trouble-free production
  • Autonomous execution of investment measures
  • Develop and implement further improvement of the production process to adjust to future requirements
  • Coordination of production activities
  • Managing the HSM production with respect to the overall company’s goals
  • Develop and maintain the department’s budget
  • Develop and maintain the manpower plan (org-chart) for the production area
  • Develop and maintain goals for the production department
  • Representation of AM/NS Calvert at events and in organizations
  • Development of training for the work force
  • Performance review for the direct reporting team members
  • Control all KPIs for production
  • Monitor continuous improvements
  • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment and Environmental Commitment

  • Mill setting – Hot Strip Mill industrial environment
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads or weekend coverage
