Who we are looking for Business Performance Manager
At ArcelorMittal, we are looking for someone to join us at the forefront of the steel industry. As an Business Performance Manager will be responsible to perform and manage the business analysis along North America units, be able to explain the main variations and understand the drivers for that. Business  Performance manager should implement rigorous planning processes that emphasize business unit strategies and guide actions that can maximize economic and financial return, facilitate communication, and monitor the evolution of results to ensure that business units are held accountable and meet their short and medium term commitments by providing accurate and timing reports. The scope comprehends EBITDA (broken by revenue and cost), OWCR, CAPEX and other components of FCF. As part of the work, the report to corporate (GAPM) and interact with the North America units.


Additionally, will be responsible to answer or support the management on ad-hoc demands regarding finance.



Working in a scope of North America units, be responsible to execute:

  • Develop a good understanding of the business and be able to explain the drivers behind the numbers. Link operational performance to financial results
  • Analyze business performance on a regular basis, understand variance vs. plan and prior forecasts
  • Regular update of the key market trends – scrap to steel spreads, spot price evolution, spread between various markets
  • Lead the multi-year financial planning exercise, aligning input assumptions and drivers
  • Develop models to explain optimization opportunities and develop implementation roadmaps in alignment with the North America strategy`
  • Build consensus and influence stakeholders with disparate priorities from different parts of the organization
  • EBITDA Analysis. components of the result and Bridge analysis
  • Support Management on competition performance analysis
  • Support management on Strategy and Budget exercises
  • Interact with business units
  • Attend the ad-hoc demands from management
  • Upload data in North America cube and manage the process
  • Monitor the bonus target and strategic commitments in North America perimeter
  • Work on Digital Improvement in data base and reporting data
  • Prepare the North America Monthly, Quarter, and Budget Report


What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required. Engineering, or Business disciplines are preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant working experience in finance and/or consulting roles in a basic materials or manufacturing/industrial environment with excellent finance capabilities and presentation skills.
  • Must understand a steel producing plant and product knowledge.
  • Should have an understanding about steel industry process.
  • Should have an understanding about ArcelorMittal reporting routine.
  • Must understand the requirements needed to optimize the process.
  • English / Advanced
  • Spanish / Intermediate (desired)
  • Hands on initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and writing).
  • Management capability to organize and develop account plans and business plans and analyze performance against these plans.
  • Exceptional work ethic and negotiating skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of steel operations.
  • Knowledge of steel process
  • Results oriented person with a strong focus on delivery and ability to work collaboratively across multiple and diverse teams, functional areas and job levels.  
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Excel, Word and Power Point Skills are needed.
  • Knowledge in BPM system desirable
