DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide technical and leadership support within the highly automated Cold Roll Mill CPL to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert. 

 

The Basics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or Similar 4-Year Degree, Or Military Leadership experience 4+ years, or 4+ years’ experience in increasing responsibility in an industrial or steel mill
  • 2 or more years of experience in a Cold Roll Mill within the Steel industry
  • Thorough knowledge of heavy industrial field
  • Ability to develop production schedules
  • Ability to lead a minimum of 11 people
  • Ability to schedule and assign trainings for all team members
  • Experience working with SAP and MES

  • Experience working in inspection procedures
  • Knowledge of Chemical Operations; Pickling Process
  • Ability to analyze productivity and working ratio
  • Basic budget management skills
  • ISO training

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Supervises and directs operations personnel on the specific duties to be accomplished each day
  • Enforces company policies using coaching and disciplinary recommendations
  • Performs the shift turnover with the previous and following shifts
  • Works closely with Maintenance team to diagnose problems
  • Works closely with Production Planning and Internal Logistics for product flow
  • Works on continuous improvement of process
  • Responsible for documentation and reporting of issues in mill with root cause analysis and possible solutions
  • Responsible for analyzing productivity, delays, and quality for each shift
  • Responsible for the safety, order, and cleanliness of area
  • Ensure that all team members stay up to date on CBT and safety training
  • Communicate all AM/NS safety incidents and have sign in sheets for records
  • Perform daily safety discussions with all team members
  • Perform daily safety audits to include proper PPE, LOTO, and rigging inspections
  • Demonstrate and ensure team members hold health and safety as a value

 

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and Industrial setting in the Cold Roll Mill
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Shift Work – Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
