Inside Sales Representative

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Fosters customer relationships and has explicit understanding of customer requirements           

ACCOUNTABILITIES:       

  • Responsible for the order fulfillment processes including but not limited to:
    • Enters customer purchase orders (such as steel/material specifications, delivery information, pricing, etc.) into using SAP in a quick and error free manner
    • Monitors sales activity to ensure business plan and forecast targets are not exceeded
    • Monitors pricing guidelines for contract and spot business; monitors billing errors to achieve 0% pricing errors
    • Manages inventory and monitor supply chain to meet customer expectations
    • Manages work queues to ensure orders are fulfilled as required
    • Initiates necessary actions required to resolve any obstacles between customers' requirements and AM/NS ability to satisfy them
  • Decision maker within established guidelines in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Maintains open, professional communication with other departments including Sales, Technical Services, Production Planning, and Logistics regarding all aspects of customer requirements
  • Participates fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes
  • Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and health work environment
  • Fulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect
  • Ensures working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001:2004and TS 16949:2009     

EDUCATION & ACCREDITATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Supply Chain Management, or combination of education and related experience            

KNOWLEDGE:

  • 2 to 3 years demonstrated experience in Inside Sales role preferred
  • Steel industry, manufacturing, or automotive industry experience preferred                 

SKILLS:

  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to work in fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • SAP or other ERP system experience desired, but not required
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly energetic and self-starter
  • Problem resolution and resourceful
  • Process improvement oriented; work smarter, not harder
  • Able to multi-task activities with shifting priorities
  • Ability to work 90% of the time at the desk and/or computer
  • Interest and ability to work at our site operations in Calvert, Alabama
