DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide onsite maintenance support through preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repairs within the highly automated Central Testing Lab to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert. 

The Basics:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of electrical systems
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanical systems and components
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

  • Associate-degree in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance or related preferred.
  • Steel industry experience

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Responsible for the overall electrical, and in some cases also mechanical, maintenance of testing lab in performing required scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
  • Performs maintenance including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machines
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machine
  • Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance
  • Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories
  • Establish material masters for spare part inventory for all equipment using SAP
  • Work directly with vendors for technical support on repairs and improvements
  • Work directly with laboratory shift operators to improve methods of equipment use
  • Maintain precise test machines to OEM standards.
  • Assist other maintenance employees with repairs as necessary
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules

 

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Industrial setting in the A2LA/17025 accredited Central Testing Lab.
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Must be willing to work either a Day Shift Monday - Friday or Rotating 12-hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
