Electrician HDGL & FL Maintenance
Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, Ala. Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.
AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will provide on-site Electrical & Automation support through technical leadership and continuous optimization of process improvement projects within the highly automated Hot Dip Galvanizing and Annealing Lines to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert.
The Basics:
- High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- At least 2 years of previous electrical maintenance experience
- Strong electrical knowledge in an industrial environment
- Maintenance, repair, and/or service experience
- Schematic/Print Reading Skills
- Knowledge of power feeding and distribution, motors, and variable frequency drives (VFD)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Teams, Word)
- Basic knowledge of SAP
The Extras:
- Accredited vocational or technical program in an industrial setting desired
- Maintenance experience in Steel industry preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform maintenance including, but not limited to, electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair to perform required maintenance and service
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
- Keep a strong focus on safety and housekeeping- The job is not finished until cleanup is done
- Condition Based inspections of all Electrical equipment determining when to repair
- Notification creation on any items found in need of repair
- Read and interpret equipment manuals
- Time entry in SAP for all work done

- Industrial setting in the Hot Dip Galvanizing and Finishing Lines
- Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
- Day Shift (Mon – Fri) with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads & outages
