Located in Calvert, 35 miles north of Mobile, Alabama, our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades in the North America market. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide supervisory support through direct supervision and coordination within the highly automated HSM to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert. 

The Basics:

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field and/or 4 years of military leadership experience
• Previous experience in a Hot Rolling/Heating/Roll Shop
• Previous experience in a production leadership position
• Steel industry knowledge
• Proficient in computer programs to include Microsoft Office Suite and SAP

The Extras:

• 4 years of operations experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment or HSM equivalent

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Responsible for the safety, order and cleanliness of the HSM
• Supervise and direct HSM Roll shop operations personnel on the specific duties to accomplish production requirements and objectives
• Arrangement of maintenance activities on all equipment used in the HSM
• Track attendance and vacations
• Coordinate training of team members.
• Promote teamwork
• Enforce company policies using coaching and disciplinary recommendations
• Coordinate team meetings
• Prepare reports
• Communicate information to the team from management team
• Work closely with Maintenance team to diagnose problems
• Work on continuous improvement processes
• Responsible for documentation and reporting issues in the mill with root cause analysis and possible solutions

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office and Industrial setting in the Hot Strip Mill
• Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
• Shift Work – Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
