OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:
Manage, lead, and support Engineering team requirements in a fast-paced environment
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Directs management of the project engineering team; review and provide technical direction with assigned team members
- Provides development, management, and continuous improvement of standard engineering practices for the project
- Provides engineering services to project team and act as a liaison for external engineering support including but not limited to hydraulics, rotating equipment design, piping, lubrication, power distribution, instrumentation, lifting and handling, and civil
- Directs engineering support for the project Team in all project phases, from Concept engineering till commissioning
- Experience project execution phases
- Defines, updates, and manages process maps and associated instructions and forms utilized by engineering team
- Monitor compliance with standards and processes to assure delivery
- Driving continual focus on process safety throught the engineering team
- Identifies and mitigates areas of risk and improvement opportunities during design phase
- Managing and leading, supporting and supervising multidisciplinary engineering team
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the acitivites and operations of a multidiscipline engineering team
- Assist in the management of recruitment selection for the team
- Manages engineering team, manning and general resource allocation including external engineering resources
- Provides communication of company policies, notices, conducting oral and written performance reviews and equitable assignment of work to team members

- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect Ensures working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001:2004 and TS16949:2009
EDUCATION & ACCREDITATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or combination of post-secondary education and related experience
KNOWLEDGE:
- 5-10 years demonstrated experience supporting engineering and reliability requirements in a steel mill, or other heavy industrial environment
- Equipment and Process knowledge of DRI and CCS preferable
- Experience managing and coordinating contractors to ensure timely completion of jobs Extensive experience with project and process documentation
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics Ability to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office and SAP
- Interest and ability to work at our project site at Portland – Texas
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Project Environmental
- Occasional domestic and international travel
HOURS OF WORK:
Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
