Located in Calvert, 35 miles north of Mobile, Alabama, our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades in the North America market. DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide Mechanical support for the Hot Strip Mill to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert. 

The Basics:

• High School Diploma/General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• At least 3 years of previous mechanical maintenance experience
• Heavy industrial or mechanical equipment experience
• Experience with PDM activities- Vibration, thermography, pump and motor alignment, UT inspections etc.
• Schematic/Print Reading Skills
• Knowledge of QA/QC inspections
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Teams, Word)
• Basic knowledge of SAP

The Extras:

• Accredited vocational or technical program in an industrial setting desired
• Maintenance experience in Steel industry preferred
• Strong mechanical knowledge in an industrial environment
• Working knowledge of high-pressure pumps and boiler feed pumps desired

 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machines
• Inspect, adjust, clean or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance
• Tear down, replace, repair, install and assemble equipment parts, components, and accessories
• Assist other maintenance employees with repairs and housekeeping as needed; Responsible for housekeeping of designated area
• Support electrical maintenance as needed
• Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance services, data analysis, vibration and thermography
• Perform maintenance inspections including, but not limited to, mechanical, hydraulic, power transmission, lubrication, process pumps, motor alignment, pump alignment, (precision maintenance), etc.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance inspections and services
• Perform and assist in Lock Out Try Out of equipment, systems, and sub-systems
• Interface with Production and Quality Team Members to trouble shoot any issues with product quality
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules

• Industrial setting in the Hot Strip Mill
• Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
• Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
