DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented leader dedicated to driving continuous improvement, reliability, and risk management activities to effectively support ArcelorMittal Calvert's business objectives. The Operational Excellence Facilitator will lead and facilitate structured operational excellence initiatives to improve safety, reliability, quality, productivity, and overall business performance.

The Basics

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Reliability Engineering, or a related technical field required
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in manufacturing, metals, petrochemical, chemical, mining, refining, pulp and paper, or similar industrial environments
  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, asset management practices, process safety management systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience facilitating Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and Management of Change (MOC) reviews
  • Strong facilitation, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

The Extras

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management regulations and risk management best practices
  • Experience using reliability, risk assessment, and continuous improvement software tools
  • Professional certifications related to reliability, maintenance, process safety, or operational excellence

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Provides support for operational excellence, reliability improvement, process safety, and risk management initiatives across the site
  • Responsible for facilitating RCM, RCA, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and continuous improvement activities
  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying operational risks, eliminating losses, and implementing sustainable improvements
  • Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), HAZOP studies, What-If Reviews, and Layer of Protection Analyses
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations for equipment failures, process upsets, quality events, and safety incidents
  • Facilitate Reliability Centered Maintenance studies and support asset criticality assessments
  • Track and communicate corrective actions, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and monitor operational excellence metrics, dashboards, and key performance indicators
  • Provide coaching and training on reliability, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to site leadership and stakeholders

  • Office setting
  • Mill setting – heavy industrial environment
  • Days, Monday through Friday, with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads, incident response, workshop facilitation, turnaround activities, or weekend coverage
