OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • Ownership and establishment of detailed schedule and budget baseline coordination
  • Routine monitoring with 3rd party construction management who is directly responsible for construction schedule and project spending
  • Coordination with 3rd party construction management firm on document/drawing controls
  • Coordination of master schedule interfaces with existing site operations
  • Coordination of Purchase Requisition & Purchase Order monitoring and expediting as required
  • Serve as a member of cross functional project management team

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:          

  1. Tracking and reporting of project health as it pertains to budget and schedule
  2. Project master schedule accuracy and routine updates to Project Manager, Construction Manager, and overall Project Team
  3. Analysis, monitoring, and visibility of critical paths in project schedule
  4. Analysis and development of schedule recovery tactics as required
  5. Coordinating 3rd party Construction Management team resources for budget, schedule, and document controls activities
  6. Analysis, development, and maintain accuracy of project budget
  7. Ensure accurate and complete document transmissions between AM/NS, OEM, Construction Team, etc
  8. Support Project Execution Change Order Management through 3rd party Construction Management Team and AM/NS project team
  9. Development of routine weekly and monthly project status reporting to include schedule and budget

EDUCATION, ACCREDITATION & EXPERIENCE: Technical expertise / years of experience in the field

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling
  • Proven experience (8+ years of experience) in project planning/scheduling or maintenance planning/scheduling
  • Project Management Professional achieved or in progress
  • Primavera experience desired

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge / Skills required

  • Manufacturing Safety and lockout/tryout
  • Knowledge of Carbon Steel Melt Shops and Casting
  • Project Management Skills, Scheduling Coordination, etc
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment design drawings
  • Change Order Management
  • Excellent communications skills working with professionals, operations, and construction trades.
  • Excellent at being part of a cross functional team; mechanical, electrical, operations, civil construction, etc
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills including Project
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism
  • Interest and ability to work at our site location in Calvert, Alabama

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office/Plant/Construction Environment. Required to wear personal protective equipment.             

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
