Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, AL.  Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.  

AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.

 

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY/PURPOSE OF POSITION: We are looking for a Recruiter to join our team and be an integral part of our organization’s success. The Recruiter will be instrumental in attracting the best talent into our company. This person will be responsible for developing and creating innovative recruitment strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of candidates from traditional and non-traditional talent pools.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:          

  1. Attract and recruit top talent to support our staffing efforts within the organization
  2. Operate with a sense of urgency to manage high volume recruiting activities with a strong attention to detail to ensure both a consistent and timely candidate experience
  3. Pipeline talent and drive proactive recruitment strategies to anticipate future openings
  4. Source candidates using web-based recruiting methods and social media, as well as traditional means of referrals, networking, job fairs, campus recruiting, etc.
  5. Communicate with applicants and perform prescreening questions to ensure fit and qualification match based on work history, values, attitude, training, education, job skills, etc.
  6. Manage interview scheduling and coordinate details with hiring managers and field-based HR teams
  7. Partner with company managers to form candidate evaluations and to make hiring recommendations
  8. Coordinate and facilitate pre-screening activities in partnership with the sites
  9. Utilize an applicant tracking system to accurately track open positions and recruiting progress
  10. Develop and maintain recruiting status reporting to offer visibility into recruiting efforts; ensure frequent communication with hiring managers to offer visibility into our work
  11. Extend candidate offers and support the onboarding process
  12. Lead talent acquisition process improvements
  13. Act as a liaison with external resources: temporary agencies, contract and retained search agencies, etc
  14. Recruit and source for multiple positions. Interview and screen applicants. Extend offers of employment to candidates
  15. Lead or participate in college recruiting events
  16. Train hiring managers on interviewing

EDUCATION, ACCREDITATION & EXPERIENCE: Technical expertise / years of experience in the field

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field
  • Prefer 3+ years’ experience in full lifecycle recruiting, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems desired

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge / Skills required

  • Knowledge of full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, sourcing, qualifying, networking, and assessing candidates
  • Ability to recruit for all disciplines of a corporation to include Finance, Operations, Engineering, and IT
  • Ability to manage demands while being extremely adaptable and flexible
  • Excellent time management, organizational, writing, and oral communication skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of senior level leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit for a broad/deep range of positions
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications
  • Must be Internet savvy; Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism
  • Interest and ability to work at our site location in Calvert, Alabama

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
