Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, Ala. Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.
AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will provide supervisory support through direct supervision and coordination within the highly automated HDGL to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert.
The Basics:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or similar; 4-year degree or Military leadership experience 4+ years, or 4+ years’ experience in increasing responsibility roles in industrial or steel mill
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, web applications, and SAP
- Must be willing to lead by example and provide accountability for direct reports

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Supervises and directs maintenance personnel on the specific duties to be accomplished each day
- Enforces company policies using coaching and disciplinary recommendations
- Performs the shift turnover with the previous and following shifts
- Works closely with Maintenance team to diagnose problems
- Works on continuous improvement of process
- Manages personnel work schedules, attendance and timekeeping
- Schedules and assigns required training for direct reports
- Responsible for documentation and reporting of issues in mill with root cause analysis and recommends solutions
- Responsible for the safety, order, and cleanliness of area
- Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office and Industrial setting in the HDGL
- Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
- Shift Work – Rotating 12 hour shifts to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
