DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The Operations Specialist analyzes reasons for production disturbances in cooperation with other maintenance and production personnel, troubleshoots unscheduled operational delays, and researches, develops, and coordinates process improvements to completion within the highly automated Cold Rolling Mill to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.
THE BASICS
- Bachelor of Science Degree Industrial Engineering, or equivalent related experience in industrial facilities
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, operations, or maintenance in a heavy industrial environment
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel) and general computer proficiency
- Intermediate experience with SAP (Purchase Requisitions, Work Orders, Notifications)
- Experience or design knowledge of steam generation, water treatment, acid regeneration, demineralized water production, compressed air generation
THE EXTRAS
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering
- In depth knowledge of utilities (acid regeneration, steam systems, cooling water, water treatment) - ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment, i.e. pumps, piping systems, filtration, valves
- Strong understanding of environmental permit compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Responsible for performance, quality, and improvement of operating units
- Tracks usage and manages reorders of chemicals and supplies
- Supports, coordinates, trains, and leads operations team
- Leads, supports, participates in, and develops improvement programs and project groups
- Supports conducting regular analysis and data preparation of the operations processes concerning costs, quality, availability, weak spot analysis, future development, etc.
- Supports increasing and optimizing operations activities concerning time, cost, productivity, capacity, and resources
- Responsible for scheduling, planning and execution of short and long-term operations activities and securing cost and schedule for those activities
- Prepare and attend meetings and briefings on the production and maintenance statuses of units
- On call duty rotation responsibilities
- Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

- Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
