DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will lead sustainable development compliance and reporting for AM/NS Calvert, coordinate with segment and corporate offices to ensure alignment in approach and understanding, as well as support financial reporting and compliance of the organization to meet the business goals of AM/NS Calvert. 

 The Basics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Management or similar field of study required
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working with sustainability initiatives
  • Experience with researching, compiling, analyzing and interpreting data accurately and timely required
  • Experience working in multiple systems for data collection
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

  • Strong knowledge of current sustainability best practice, initiatives and key market drivers including but not limited to carbon net zero, circular economy, and human rights preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of involvement in the development and successful execution of corporate strategy, programs, and initiatives in a large global/multinational or similar organization
  • Demonstrated experience of change management, performance improvement, and project oversight
  • MBA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of EU CSRD would be a strong asset
  • Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment in a corporate or consulting role would be beneficial
  • Sound working knowledge of large ERP system preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead the preparation, implementation, and delivery of the company’s ESG regulatory disclosures, including Corporate Sustainability Reporting Disclosure (CSRD) and the US Security and Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • Lead the governance and reporting required to support the organization’s sustainability development strategy, working closely with management and other departments
  • Work closely with a variety of departments within the organization to support sustainable change through providing timely and accurate reporting and communication of segment and global requirements
  • Work closely with the North America segment sustainable development functions to feed into the overall sustainability development strategy for the global group
  • Provide support in implementing compliance requirements for climate reporting requirements and provide focal point for feeding requisite information
  • Monitor competitor, peer, and customer sustainability strategies, targets, requirements, and performance to ensure that AM/NS Calvert sustainable development positioning allows it to lead in its core markets
  • Contribute to the annual sustainability development plan at AM/NS Calvert
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of global group level sustainable development initiatives
  • Coordinate communication of AM/NS Calvert’s responses to regulatory disclosures
  • Engage with key subject matter experts to deliver on expectations and scope, including the identification and support of any key areas of identified risk within scope of this position
  • Work with leadership to drive continuous improvement towards sustainability development performance targets that are aligned with Group level targets
  • Act as a business partner for sustainability development, providing advice and support as needed, connecting departments with technical leads in sustainability as appropriate
  • Provide input as required into the preparation of the organization’s sustainability reports in accordance with global group requirements
  • Support the promotion of the organization’s sustainability philosophy
  • Lead or support other ad hoc financial reporting requirements or financial improvement initiatives as required

 

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office setting, occasional visits to industrial mill settings
  • Gulf coast region in Calvert, AL
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
