The Talent Acquisition Manager will play a pivotal role in our HR team, collaborating closely with hiring managers to recruit top-tier candidates and oversee talent acquisition processes. This position involves formulating and implementing strategic and tactical approaches for sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding top talent for AM/NS Calvert. As a strategic partner and advisor, you will work in tandem with HR colleagues and business leaders to create comprehensive talent acquisition plans, drawing from extensive knowledge of recruitment best practices, innovative technologies, and the current talent landscape.

The Basics:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, or similar degree and/or combination of post-secondary education and related experience
  • 5 years of management experience with an emphasis on talent acquisition
  • Demonstrated success in high-volume technical talent acquisition
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills
  • Track record in establishing and reporting talent acquisition KPIs
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)

The Extras:

  • CP, PHR, SCP, SPHR Certification(s) strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a plant environment; interacting directly with manufacturing floor employees

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the recruiting process for all team members (job announcements, interview process, recruiting databases, website & job board postings, job fairs, social media recruitment, reference checks, onboarding the candidate)
  • Develop and execute a strategic talent acquisition plan for technical professionals, including both hourly and salaried roles, such as maintenance and IT engineers
  • Identify and implement leading talent acquisition trends and industry best practices to attract top talent
  • Lead and mentor an in-house recruitment team, offering guidance, support, and feedback to enhance their efficiency in sourcing, screening, and hiring technical talent
  • Establish performance benchmarks, monitor progress, and enact improvement strategies as required
  • Cultivate positive and constructive relationships with the talent acquisition team, department managers, and the executive leadership
  • Foster and maintain strong connections with external recruitment agencies, overseeing agency partnerships for technical hires
  • Oversee the campus recruiting and talent pipeline strategy by expanding our campus presence through alumni relations, sponsorships and campus-sponsored events, and branding strategy.   
  • Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to identify highly qualified candidates
  • Keep up with the new trends in recruitment strategies and implement relevant tools and practices
  • Support proposal efforts by identifying key personnel and extending contingent offers
  • Generate and report on recruitment metrics to management team
  • Support workforce development initiatives by building a robust candidate pipeline through networking, industry events, and strategic sourcing activities
  • Collaborate with the Communications and HR teams to craft compelling employer value propositions
  • Utilize data and analytics to monitor and report on recruitment metrics, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire, with a commitment to optimizing the talent acquisition process
  • Streamlining, standardizing, and continuously improving talent policies, practices, and processes, and developing the talent organization to be more effective with strategic direction of the organization
