Who we are looking for Automotive Forecast Analyst

 

At ArcelorMittal, we are looking for someone to join us at the forefront of the steel industry. As part of our Sales team, your contributions will be visible all around you, within the company, and with our strategic automotive customers. Location: ArcelorMittal NA Automotive (Detroit and Nashville), ArcelorMittal Dofasco (Hamilton)  or AM/NS Calvert.

 

Responsibilities

  • Make recommendations for the monthly MRF as well as the annual business plans for all accounts;
  • In collaboration with Account Team, maintain accurate part level forecast in IBP;                                 
  • Analyze and summarize OEM, auto industry, and economic market intel to drive forecasting decisions or recommendations;  
  • Development of forecasting tools to improve the forecasting process;
  • Lead/assist in Business Plan Development and long term strategy analysis;
  • Ability to enter and update pricing in IBP to accurately reflect the current contract;
  • Track and improve forecast error;
  • Generate weekly/monthly reports to assist Auto Account Managers Customer Service Representatives to forecast & billings at the part level items at the part level and provide documentation;
  • Be a “gatekeeper” of the data that goes to MDG, IBP, and SAP ;  
  • Monitor the data flow between IBP and the local replenishment systems.  Systems need to be in alignment.  If the forecasts are not in alignment, work with the account team to determine why and what needs to be done to make the correction ;  
  • As requested, submit new auto business via “NBA” group, new business allocation;
  • As requested, maintain/report out on revenue analysis monthly/quarterly/annually;
  • Perform root cause analysis as requested ;
  • Update billings to MRF pace report;
  • Track and report out on Market Share;  
  • Continuous evaluation and improvement of the forecasting process and tools; track and improve forecast error;
  • Analyzing weekly building schedules at the platform level.

 

What you’ll need 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years automotive experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency working on relevant processes, systems, and applications.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Working knowledge of steel products, manufacturing processes, production scheduling/supply chain mgt., logistics, and proficiency in numerous systems and applications (ie:  Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint,MDG, IBP, PowerBI, MS Teams, etc) which are integral and necessary for the completion of duties;                                              
  • Ability to multi-task; and during difficult or adverse (high pressure) situations adjusts, provides support and clarity, maintains effectiveness.  As needed, mediate forecast resolution within the commercial team.                                        
  • Promote the effective flow of communications;                                                                                                            
  • Effective problem solving and advanced analytical skills:  anticipates and identifies opportunities and/or problems, performs fact-based analysis, solution identification, and firm decision making seeking guidance from higher-level mgt. in cases of unusually difficult situations.
