We are looking for a Customer Service Representative

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with mill contacts by responding to requests and ensuring overall customer satisfaction for all major service centers in the U.S.
  • Supports Flat and/or Long Products sales teams within the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions exhibiting flexibility when needed to get the job done.
  • Analyzes purchase orders from customers for entry into SAP.
  • Work closely with the technical staff to ensure technical specs of orders are entered accurately on orders.
  • Responsible for inquiry creation for new article as instructed by CTS representative.
  • Follows the order through to delivery at port for customer pick-up. Rep will also send regular status updates and order confirmations to customers.
  • Follow and track production delay and make sure customer priorities are considered and corrective action are implemented.
  • Coordinate shipping with logistics staff in the mill and Antwerp to ensure a timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Gathers and forwards proper shipping documentation for vessel entry within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customers receive invoices for shipments no more than 10 days after vessel arrives.
  • Whenever applicable (indexed contract), update prices in the order prior to shipment in agreement with Sales Manager instruction.
  • Enter and complete technical and commercial claims as instructed by management and CTS rep.
  • Supporting Head of CTS, CSR Manager and the Sales Manager with the S232 exclusion program:
    • Help identifying orders subject to S232 exclusion and entering the required information in V21 for tracking and further processing
    • Monitoring applicability of exclusion (quantity, ETA) versus exclusion scope
    • Applying to new S232 exclusion under CTS Manager supervision
  • All other duties assigned.
  • Possible 10%-15% travel annually.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • SAP or ERP system experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines while still servicing the customers effectively
  • Autonomous
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Skills: (not mandatory)

  • Experience in the steel industry, international shipments, and customs
  • 3 + years of corporate customer service experience
  • Steel industry experience a plus
