The Account Manager

This role will primarily support ArcelorMittal NA for the Tesla, Emerging OEMs and US Stamper accounts.  Professionals are expected to understand the basics of steel product sales of automotive products manufactured by ArcelorMittal.

 

 

Account Manager, Automotive Sales (ET 1 Team) (Emerging OEMs, Tesla and US Stampers)

As part of our Sales team, your contributions will be visible all around you, within the company and with our strategic automotive customers. The account manager supports accounts based on product and/or market segments and is seen as a sales business liaison, advocating for their customers internally while considering internal business goals.

 

Location:Office location to be determined  (The team is open to consider someone in Hamilton, Calvert, Schererville or Detroit).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages Account Plans for assigned customer(s) providing customer profile information, and action plans that are consistent with company direction and Sales & Marketing & strategic objectives, and action plans to achieve said objectives.
  • Track performance to account sales objectives and other metrics; identify and execute corrective actions and support continuous improvement efforts
  • As part of a cross-functional team of commercial, technical, and manufacturing experts, helps drive the organization to achieve strategic and tactical objectives related to profitability, volume requirements, pricing, quality, delivery, service, product development and early involvement and, when appropriate, supporting AMNA and ArcelorMittal group objectives.
  • Functions in a team environment providing backup support to team members and participates in projects and special assignments as required.
  • Supports internal company goals including inventory management, payment performance and invoice payments/collections.
  • Respond to customer service requests, including inquiries regarding products, product delivery, availability, order status.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships including responding to customer service needs, solicits new business to support sales plan objectives, manages the contracting process and communicates customer requirements and expectations.
  • Negotiates day-to-day customer-related issues. Able to interact and influence the customer through the negotiation process on day-to-day items including, but not limited to claims, freight, etc.
  • Identifies and communicates customer needs and performance; identifies actions necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicates all business/market/customer intelligence back into the sales organization.
  • Proactively approaches new emerging OEMs to initiate a relationship with ArcelorMittal while garnering support for the unusual needs and marshalling the project through AM NA.
  • Annual business planning (ABP) & most recent forecast (MRF); and sales call planning
  • Arrange and attend sales calls to all customers assigned with regularity
  • Perform customer and market analysis by understanding ArcelorMittal NA & competitor capabilities, drivers, price trends, performance, and structures, as well as non-price competitive factors in customer markets

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Suite
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work and manage through non-traditional work schedules.
  • Demonstrates strong communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field
  • Must have Automotive sales experience
  • Fully utilizes the system resources and sales tools available such as C4C: Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Power BI: Delivery & Sales Plan, IBP Forecast tool, GMS, and newly developed future sales tools as part of daily management to perform job functions
  • SAP experience

 

Travel: up to 25%
