We are looking for a Customer Service Representative

ArcelorMittal is looking for qualified candidates for a Customer Service Representative position within the ArcelorMittal International (AMI) department. The person hired for this position will work out of our downtown Chicago office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with mill contacts by responding to requests and ensuring overall customer satisfaction of steel customers
  • Interacts with Sales managers to receive inquiries and purchase orders from customers
  • Creates orders in SAP system and ensures transmission to all parties (i.e. customer, mill, logistics)
  • Works closely with the technical staff to ensure technical specs of orders are entered accurately on orders
  • Supports other AMI Departments to ensure a cohesive work environment in order to satisfy customer requirements
  • Gathers and forwards proper shipping documentation for vessel entry within the US, Canada, and Mexico
  • Coordinates shipping with logistics staff in the mill and Antwerp to ensure a timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for ensuring that customers receive invoices for shipments in a timely manner
  • Monitors fulfillment of orders by periodically receiving updates from mill contacts and sends regular status updates to sales managers and customer contacts.
  • Tracks and monitors inventory levels to reduce stock, as well as enter and complete technical and commercial claims as instructed by management and CTS rep.
  • All other duties assigned
  • Limited travel

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • ERP experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Hybrid Work Environment (Office/Remote)

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in the steel industry, international shipments, and customs
  • SAP experience strongly preferred
  • 3 + years of corporate customer service experience
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet deadlines while still servicing the customers effectively.
