Job Description:

The Product Analyst is responsible to have knowledge in a technical, scientific or specialized field built on an understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles and their context.  This knowledge is typically acquired through professional or academic qualification or through more than five years of practical experience. Employees in this position are responsible for integrating related operations or services. Interaction with others requires understanding, influencing and supporting people, through applying technical knowledge or rational arguments aimed at causing action or acceptance by others. Employees in this position are confronted with a variety of problems which need to be analyzed before it is possible to select the appropriate solution based mostly on past experiences.

Employees are permitted to determine their own priorities as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (e.g. quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly performs most complex and critical independent research and analysis for members of the organization in a wide range of specialties and prepares and presents interpretation of findings and provides relevant conclusions.
  • Interprets results and provides recommendations for further consideration.
  • Provides analytical support and assistance by carrying out needed analysis either proactively or in response to user requests within a functional area.  Regularly required to maintain full responsibility for a functional area (i.e., benefit cost analysis).
  • Proposes improvements to processes and methods of work and analysis, and contributes to ensuring that they are continuously adapted to business requirements.
  • Coordinates and leads complex projects; often serves as a cross-functional team member or team leader on special projects, assignments, or initiatives. 
  • Prepares advanced reports and studies for management and carries out needed analyses.  Utilizes excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of different analytical techniques to provide recommendations to management.
  • Provides specialized advice to assigned area for the resolution of operational and functional problems and issues.

 

Location/Dept/Unit Specific Responsibilities:

Business Plan & MRF Process (75%)

  • Prepares, analyzes, and documents information for both the Annual BP and the monthly MRF
  • Works with Product Director, Product Team and Account Sales to analyzes changes in the MRF vs previous MRF and BP
  • Reviews line capacity and determines implications based on the unconstrained forecast
  • Revises Forecast based on any changes after the consensus meeting
  • Develop pricing for MRF

 

Contract Support (10%)

  • Profitability analysis and develop "pinch point" recommendations
  • Develop and maintain CRU calculator
  • Calculates and updates index pricing in CPQ

 

Sales Plan (5%)

  • Works with Director to develop sales plan

Additional Responsibilities (10%)

  • Assist Director in commercial review slide presentation
  • Represents Product team at weekly meetings to discuss and review current issues
  • Provides backup account coverage for team

 

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3-5 years ArcelorMittal or industry experience
  • Strong Excel skills (Level 2 minimum) with experience in pivot tables, data extraction, and using functions and formulas
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to schedule vacation time around MRF/BP schedule
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload with little oversight
  • Results oriented with emphasis on taking initiative and perseverance
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Power BI and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment across multiple functions
  • Knowledge of competitor’s pricing, capabilities and locations

 

 

Working Conditions:

  • In office Environment, Monday to Friday, with extended hours as required.
