The Talent Acquisition Specialist ensures that the recruiting program is aligned with business priorities and will build a robust talent network for the company. You’ll develop solid relationships with business leaders, human resources, and external partners to execute the recruiting strategy. Employer branding, future resource planning, diversifying the company's labor force, and the candidate’s experience are the cornerstones of this position. The role encompasses internal and external recruitment, onboarding practices, systems/HRIS updates, overall process improvements and best practice approaches. This role will primarily support recruiting for the ArcelorMittal North America headquarters and functions served by our office (e.g. Research & Development, Projects, International). Managing visa and relocation processes are included within your responsibilities. You will also interact with Corporate ArcelorMittal in Luxembourg and our regional business units on recruitment and employee value proposition projects.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule once acclimated (2 days from home) and will be based in Schererville, Indiana.

 

Responsibilities

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead full life cycle recruiting process from requisition posting through sourcing, offer acceptance and onboarding.
  • Conduct in-depth intake meetings with the business to ensure alignment on position, candidate profile, key behavioral and technical proficiencies that drive success, and establish clarity on roles, responsibilities, and process timeline.
  • Partner with communications team to incorporate employer branding and social media tactics into talent sourcing plans and targeted outreach events.
  • Source candidates through job boards, direct search tools and recruitment agencies for specific recruitment needs.
  • Provide an excellent candidate experience and promote the ArcelorMittal employment brand and EmVP (employee value proposition) throughout the recruitment process.
  • Deliver recruiting process excellence by following internal policies and procedures, accurately tracking candidate and requisition activity in the applicant tracking system and adhering to all significant compliance and legal requirements.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on the recruiting process; from sourcing and screening candidates, interviewing, closing offers and working with other internal and external partners to ensure the successful on-boarding of candidates.
  • Work closely with internal client and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity and transparency of the recruitment processes (including resume screening, competency-based interviews, consensus meetings, and hiring results).
  • Take care of preboarding actions and assist new hires with completing paperwork and required documentation.
  • Coordinate the full onboarding process for new hires including the orientation process which includes office set up and orientation.
  • Support implementation of new or updated policies, advising leaders to ensure consistency of interpretation.
  • Work on special projects related to recruitment and workforce management, people data reports, and other ad-hoc works in progress.
  • Track key measures of success (e.g., quality of hire, time to fill, cost per hire, and customer and candidate satisfaction).
  • Prepare recruitment reports and statistics; provide follow-up and the required related reporting for the HR systems.
  • Consult and work with immigration lawyers/partners to understand the hiring options and visa programs available for the international employees the company want to hire.
  • Partner with relocation agencies and coordinate the relocation process for the new hires or transferred employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology or in a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in human resources (1+ years of experience in recruitment role).
  • An experienced level of knowledge in all full lifecycle recruiting components such as talent sourcing, assessing, applicant tracking, closing offer processes and relationship management.
  • 1+ years of experience using technologies to support talent selection including, but not limited to, applicant tracking systems, sourcing channels, social and digital media (such as SuccessFactors, Oracle, and LinkedIn).
  • Ability to apply a consultancy approach, challenge processes when needed, while also effectively handling expectations of business partners and candidates alike.
  • Proven ability to conduct competency-based recruitment (experience with behavioral based interviewing methodology).
  • Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and HRIS systems. 
  • Good command of HR platforms (such as SAP and Oracle) and ability with reporting data.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize work and multi-task several projects, simultaneously; and quickly adjust to new situations, assignments, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives.
  • Possesses expertise across the main areas of recruiting, including technical competence in legal and compliance requirements (State & Federal regulations) and an ability to approach recruiting issues in a planned, conceptual, and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative, enthusiastic, professional, approachable, and flexible.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Success Factors and/or Oracle recruitment system.
  • KF leadership assessment certification.
  • SHRM-Talent Acquisition specialty, SHRM-CP certification.
  • Previous job experience in recruitment agency would be an asset.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiar with I-9 compliance tools and best practices.
  • Understanding of the essentials of employment-based immigration.
