IT Security Analyst

IT Security provides perimeter and internal threat protection, vulnerability management, and security awareness. IT Security also participates in and leads standardization projects in the Americas for ArcelorMittal. The successful applicant will have Senior Security skills and deliver best practices in IT Security management and configuration.

Major Responsibilities:

• Supports IT Security Process management across all technology groups in Dofasco.
• Maintains IT Security working technical knowledge to support Security infrastructure
• Analyses IT Security performance and metrics as part of IT Service Management role.
• Develops security awareness by providing orientation, educational programs, and on-going communication.

• Performs risk assessments and testing of IT systems

• Supports Governance and Compliance work including SOx and other IT Security audit compliance.
• Supports Regional (Americas) and Global IT Security in troubleshooting and problem management.
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommends IT Security technical direction and methods for global, regional and ArcelorMittal Dofasco (AMD) needs.
• Develops IT Security standards, processes, procedures, and policies, and addresses exceptions.
• Provides mentoring and coaching to individuals and teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintains network of internal and external contacts to extend knowledge base.
• Plans, estimates, and coordinates IT Security tasks and projects.
• Active member of applicable peer groups (e.g., user groups, councils, conferences).
• Develops and maintains working knowledge of mainstream computer technology by means of journals, suppliers, presentations, seminars, professional and society meetings, and contacts with other users in the business internal and external to Dofasco.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

• The following would be beneficial to have:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP);
  • Certified Information Security Auditor and/or Manager (CISA / CISM); and/or
  • Vendor credentials offered by Microsoft or other security-related vendors

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Demonstrated professional experience using some or all of the following: Firewalls, Intrusion Protection Systems (IPS), Network Monitoring, Content Filtering, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) Systems, Vulnerability scanning and analysis software, Host Intrusion Prevention/Protection Systems (HIPS), Access Control
• Strong knowledge of some or all of the following: encryption, digital certificates, SSL, VPN, IPSec, TCP/IP, DNS, web security architecture, Windows (all versions), UNIX/Linux, Apple, iOS, Android.
• 5+ years in Security support role and appropriate designation(s) beneficial such as MCS: Security or CISSP.
• Information Security Policies, Informing Others, System Administration, Problem Solving, Process Improvement

Work Environment: 

Office environment.   Dofasco has a remote work policy in place.  Employees have the option of 2 days remote work per week. 

Hours of Work:

• Standard Monday to Friday core office hours – hours are flexible
• Occasional extended, paid hours as required to meet project deadlines, peak workloads, or problem resolution
• 24x7 on-call rotation as required with the rest of the team approximately every 4-5 weeks for 1 week
