Vibration Analyst
Background:
As a Vibration Analyst, your primary function will be to acquire and report accurate data for monitoring machinery condition utilizing vibration techniques. Vibration analysis will include spectrum, time waveform and phase analysis.
Orientation to the Predictive Technology Services Department Vibration analysis group will require working in all business units while conducting data collection routes for a wide variety of equipment using standard and off-route collection specs.
Accountabilities:

Acquire and maintain “Advanced” skills and competencies Vibration Technology.

Advance the use of predictive technologies to diagnose and solve equipment and process problems.

Competent use of the Maintenance Management System and Condition Monitoring Software to monitor and update the status of work.
-
Identify training and development needs for self and others. Mentor and coach others.
-
Maintain a network of internal and external contacts to improve knowledge base and stay abreast of new technology.

Support project teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
High school diploma/GED
-
Preference will be given to candidates with a College Technologist Diploma
-
Actively pursuing or willing to pursue basic certification in one Predictive Technology
-
Advanced trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
-
Good interpersonal and communication skills
-
Basic personal computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
-
Self-starter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
-
Valid Ontario Driver’s license is required.
Desired Skills & Experience:
-
2+ years of job-related experience is an asset
-
Minimum of Level 1 CMVA (or equivalent) is an asset
-
Experience in machinery balance, real time analysis and bode plots would be an asset.
-
Industrial and crane experience is an asset.
Work Environment:
-
70% plant (inside or outside in all seasons), 30% workshop/office.
-
Required to wear personal protective equipment.
-
The use of respirators, fresh air breathing apparatus and standard plant safety equipment may also be required.
-
Exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, lighting conditions, materials, products, and by-products associated with the manufacture of steel, temperature and weather extremes that require the use of specialized protective devices or equipment.

Required to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding to access elevations, able to crouch for periods of time, push, pull, lift and turn while carrying tools, material and equipment in various parts of the facilities. Working at heights up to 10 stories.
Hours of Work:

10.5 x 4 Day Shift (6:00 AM-4:30 PM) *

Schedule includes weekend on call coverage with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads

Extended hours for scheduled shutdowns, emergency breakdown work and call-in support
